Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service don't mean a thing when your gun fails during a zombie attack.

Interesting… the old power vs size/weight thing that forever has been a battlefield concern.  One round to do it all is going to make very few happy… unless it actually WORKS.  The tradeoffs will be many...

Also thought it interesting that it may be a polymer cased round.

The 264 USA looked too similar to the 260 REM to bother with making a brand new cartridge until I read it was designed for polymer case.  That sounds interesting.  We'll have to see how the testing goes.  I've toured inside Lake City and can tell you it will be no small matter to convert to make a new cartridge case.

It sounds like they would also need to design a totally new rifle and they would need one that is between the .308 size and the .223 size.  It wouldn't be just a simple barrel change.  i can't imagine the cost of that conversion

Agreed.  I followed other links from the one you gave and the gun used looked new or it was a highly modified M249.

Why don't they make em like the 120mm tank rounds I used to fire off.....burns up the whole case but the cap....makes a cool ashtray.
That thing on the left....my old ride, some days I miss her.
