Best suggestions please for a 2-7 power Rimfire scope. I don't want any kind of drop reticle unless it's  a mil scale type, and an adjustable elevation turret would be a bonus I suppose. This is for a Sako quad which I use both 17 HMR and 22 long rifle barrels on.

I prefer not to use a Centerfire scope, and compactness is a must   has a larger objective will not allow the barrel to be changed without removing the scope.

  Thanks in advance to all.

I would also be looking for a scope with very good adjustments since the zeros are going to be different with those two barrels.

What is your budget?

FYI, Burris used to make a scope specifically for your Sako. I believe it was a Burris Sako Quad 3-9x32. You might be able to find a used one. Kahles also made a similar scope for the Sako Quad. Both had four different zero settings for the four different barrels.

I only have barrels for .17hmr and .22lr and I don't believe the burris scope is still offered.

I don't mind resetting zero as I have been doing, just sick of having to remove the 40mm objective scope to swap barrels. I have checked, and a 33mm objective works just fine.

Budget is whatever is necessary,  but realistically I don't need a top end  scope for a plinking rifle.

This is the only rimfire I own.

Cortex is clearing out their Razor HD 1.5-8x32 and I see it in the sub-$500 range.  That is a very good deal for that scope.  Parallax is set at 100 yards, but it has good depth of field, so it works well across the board.

With standard rimfire scopes, old Weaver Rimfire 2.5-7x28 is a surprisingly decent scope, but with Weaver brand being discontinued, I do not know if you want to go there.

Lastly, SWFA has a SS Ultralight 2.5-10x32 which is an excellent scope for 17HMR and other larger rimfires.  I tested it on my 22LR and it really worked well there too.

The only thing I can think of that has not been mentioned is a Redfield 2-7 https://www.swfa.com/redfield-2-7x33-revolution-rifle-scope.html  While it's not a rimfire scope it would be one I would consider, having owned both  2-7 Redfield and the 2-7 Weaver rimfire I like both.  If you can find the Weaver rimfire I wouldn't hesitate to buy it ,  and while nothing last forever I've never had problems with the ones I have.   Shame on vortex for not keeping the 2-7 Viper in it's line.  Not sure what can or cant be shipped to Canada so you may have an issue there.

Virtually any scope that is available in the United States is available in Canada, they just can't be imported directly from retailers.
That said, in-stock options seem to be Vortex Crossfire, Leupold freedom, and the Nikon P Rimfire and P tacticals. There are a couple of the Redfield 2-7 on clearance locally so the question is, are those better than a Leupold VX freedom?

Last one I got (from here) was for my Air Force Condor SS.  I wanted a scope with adjustable parallax that would allow me to get down to within 10m.  The best overall for me was the Leupold 3-9x33 EFR.  Decent glass, and the EFR is nice for rimfire/air rifle.

Slighty off topic, anyone know of a ~3-9x50 scope which you can focus nice and low? Maybe with a ballistic ret of some kind?

Scrummy, what do you mean by "focus low?"  You mean close, or low light?  What will you put it on?

Here's a list of scopes that cover the 3-9X mag range that can focus down to 25 or less.

I pulled them from this list of hunting scopes with at least 3-9X, which has pictures of all the available reticles for each scope.
