Yes, this begs for a story!  The last email I got of an elk that size had a story claiming it was a new world record.  Turned out it was killed in a small, high fenced game farm in Canada.

Don't know any details other than it was from Canada.  High fence game can still be world record for SCI, just not B&C.

Killer Elk!!

I know this probably sounds stupid... I'm not doubting it's a huge monster nor maybe a record for sure but the picture angle makes him look enormous. Tournament fishing anglers have this trick where they hold the fish out with extended arm(s) posing for the camera and the effect makes the fish seem much larger than it really is. Hopefully he took pictures from different angles/positions for the 'ol photo album. Smile
