8 shots not trying to be sarcastic, just wanted to be sure you looked at this.

This was the first target with a brand new barrel and new loads. (see original post)

5 sighter shots to foul barrel and see how much scope adjustment was needed

Next 5 measures out to be .566 with a pulled shot. these are shots 90-94.

6 shots with one I severly jerked so I tried the 6th but should have let the barrel cool first.Shots are #95-101.
This is from 260rem. model 11 Savage that I built with a Shilen 1:8 twist 26" chrome molly varmint contour barrel.
Load is 140 gr. SMK  34 gr. IMR 4895 CCI primer oal 2.754 which is .018 off the lands.

The target dots are 3/4" @100yds. I think my next option is a better scope, at 12x the dots were a little blurry but that is my eyes, I will probably have to go with something in the 16-20 range but need to stay at 3 or 4 on the low end because I want to use this for hunting. I think I am just going to wait for the new SWFA model. For the time being I might swap over one of my SS 20's.
Thanks for the constructive critism on the last post. I still think a lot had to due with the weather and the fact it was a new barrel and that was the first time shooting it.Any suggestions appreciated.

My friend 8 is out of pocket at the moment, but I think I can take the liberty to speak on his behalf in this matter.  "There you go, I knew you could get a better group out of that thing."   LOL!

Seriously, Good Shooting!

Very good.  Just a question... what is your trigger weight set to?   I'm conducting an experiment...

Kickboxer it is an accutrigger and I haven't checked to be honest. What ever the factory set it at is where it is.If I was to make an assumption I would say 5lbs..

I did a quick log-in at an internet cafe to get my OT fix.

Nice going and I new the rifle (and you) could do better, hence my earlier comments.

I would say that a lighter trigger pull, under 1lb, would take care of another 1/4 inch!!! It may just be the cause of your flyers.

I have to agree with 8's on the trigger..... at 5# you're putting a heck of a group up.  Just think about how tight they would get if you really worked it.  That said being you stated you wanted to keep it for a hunting rig I dont' think i would go under 3-4#.

If it is the basic model Accu-trigger(not the target model) turning all the way down is about 2.5 lbs., very-crisp, and SAFE. I really like mine!
If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?

2.5 - 3.0 lb would be a good trigger weight and not too light for hunting.
