I want to hear about your experiences with the ACOG on your AK-47 in 7.62x39mm.

I am considering the ACOG TA33R-13 3x30 with BDC for 7.62x39mm.  This is the obvious choice.

However, I contacted Trijicon and spoke with them regarding other options.  It turns out people also use the TA33R-9 for 7.62x51mm with 3x30 or the TA11E 3.5x35 for 7.62x51.  Both the TA33R-9 and TA11E have chevron reticles.

Realistically, the ACOG turns the AK into a 300 yard rifle...400 yards with any shooter other than myself.  The Trijicon rep told me people have had good results with this rifle and optic combination.

What are your experiences with ACOGs with 308 BDCs on AKs?  How far "off" was your gun from the BDC?  What did you do to account for the differences?
Does anyone actually believe that the Founders were sitting around in John Adams' tavern UNARMED because they believed a bar should be a gun free zone?

In my experience, ACOG is singularly unsuitable for AKs because of the mounting height.  It is designed for use on AR's with their straight stocks.  On an AK, an ACOG I tried once was very uncomfortable to use because of how high it sat.

As far as the reticle holdover goes, if you get the exact dimensions from Trijicon, you can figure out what shooting distances the hashmarks correspond to with 7.62x39.  With some fiddling on your sight in distance you should be able to get them to correspond to something like 250yards, 325yards and 400yards.
