Anybody have experience with this scope? Interested in hearing yea/nay regarding comfort behind, particularly at the higher magnification.

Have a varmint rifle whose barrel contour and receiver height require high rings for even a 40mm objective. Cheek weld is only fair; do not want to go with still higher rings. I think can squeeze the 44mm z5 but not a 50, 56mm scope.

The objective size being what it is, exit pupil is modest for this scope at higher mag - would like to hear what view is like in reality. Straining, fair, pretty decent....?

You really should look at it yourself. Call SWFA (972-726-7348) and talk to them.  I believe you could order it in but not mount it take a look at it to see if it is right for you and exchange it if you decide on a different scope.  Swarovski scopes all tend to be very good.  A cheek rest ammo carrier might be something to consider also just to provide the best possible cheek weld.

Will be a good scope. As far as rings / mounts I think you'll just have to take scope and rifle to a shop that sells different options and try them I'm afraid.
Was sure I had a point when I started this post...

My eyesight is 60yo and I have two Z5's. Both 3.5-18x44. One with BT. I have previously owned German Zeiss, older swaros and a March scope.

The (plain) one is on a varmint barrel 308 Howa with rail and Varmint/Tactical B&C stock. The BT is on a Grendel varmint barrel Howa with two piece bases and Kryptek stock. (Yes, both cheap stocks).

Both have medium height rings. The Grendel will accept low rings but clearance was marginal and my fat cheeks made my head position (when prone) uncomfortably low.

Buy the scope with confidence. Extremely nice glass. For my prescription eyes without glasses I still find the clarity and definition crisp and adjustments spot on. Adjust your stock to fit and you wont be disapointed.

I have 3 of them on my 3 main p-dog rifles I'm 75 and have eye problems. They are fantastic. All are mounted on Coopers with Burris z rings med height.
