It has some very unusual features such as: the large diameter portion of the scope is the ocular cell (eyepiece) not the objective cell. Forward of the ocular cell, is a knob held in place with a spring bracket and a tightening knob on top of that which increases or decreases the magnification! The scope is 15 7/8” long and seems to be of copper or brass, has a black Japanned finish and the mounts are a flat black finish. The micrometer adjustments (with “clicks”) work fine, as does the focus and power range, the lenses are free of chips and scratches and the optics are surprisingly clear and bright (though there is some scattered dust or something in the field) and the cross hairs are straight and tight. The silver knob and plate that sit atop the ocular cell can be slid back and forth to achieve focus. The dovetail on the mounts is the slightly narrower type used by J.W. Fecker - .450”. The index/tightening screws on the mounts is pointed like the old Stevens style. There is a collar that clamps on the forward main tube that has a groove in the bottom which mates with a plunger in the mount to prevent rotation of the scope. Unfortunately there are no markings whatsoever... Thanks in advance for any assistance! |
