Hello All,

Happy Fathers Day to all you dads out there!

I’ve decided to purchase a Burris Signature Select 3-10x40 w/ ballistic plex (200561) to utilize with my AR-15 .223 w/ 16 bull barrel.  It will be mounted on my flattop receiver rail along with a rear flip up iron sight.  The criteria for the scope mount must be easy installation, removable and hold zero. I would prefer not to remove the rear flip up sight when using the scope mount on the receiver.

I plan to use a one piece Larue Tactical SPR 1.5 or 1.93 mount. The 1.5 and 1.93 specifications indicate the distance in inches from the top of the receiver rail to the center of the ocular bell, which in this case is 39mm.

In this situation, according to my calculations, there will insufficient clearance between the bottom of the ocular bell and top of the rear flip up sight to utilize the 1.5 mount.

The 1.93 mount will provide me with ample clearance however my concern in mounting the scope higher is insufficient elevation adjustment range when shooting out to 300-450 yards. This particular scope provides for 25 up and down, 1/4MOA clicks, or a total of 50.  After zeroing in the rifle at 100 yards, I think there will be still be sufficient click adjustment range for 300-450 yard bench shooting, but would appreciate any opinions from the optic experts on the forum.

Thank you for your help.

EAJ
