Just ordered a Swarovski Z3 w/ a 50mm objective (http://swfa.com/Swarovski-4-12x50-Z3-Riflescope-P40818.aspx). I'm planning on putting it on a lightweight stalker BAR, which has open sights. Any thoughts on which base/rings I can get away with?
I like the Talley lightweights - I assume the low's won't work with a 50mm objective, but will the medium's?
Thanks!

Your issue will be the rear sight, I doubt mediums will work because of that. I had to take the sights off my BAR so I could use the low rings like I wanted.

If you don't take the irons off, you can pretty much forget about medium height rings. You might get away with low if you take irons off. I had a 56mm objective scope and could use low leupold rings on Weaver bases. Not much clearance, but all you need is a couple molecules of air and you are good to go...

I think Medium Talley Lightweight should work OK, but you could always go to Talley quick detachable and have the ability to detach and go to irons if you wanted to.
