I like something in the 2-7X range. I find I can hit golf balls from 15yds out to 100yds and maybe a little beyond using Ky. elevation.
I use an old Redfield wide angle with a BDC reticle, and I rarely use the BDC. My wife uses a Vortex 2-7X32 made for .22s, and she is quite good with it.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

4X Weaver  $181.95

OR

I really think I would prefer the Leupold  at  $199.99

Leupold 4x28 FX-I Rimfire

Just because 2 scopes are the same power does not mean they are equal. Quality of the lens system means everything. You may see more detail farther away with a 2X scope than a 10x power if the lens system is poor. Another critical element is the precision of the internal adjustments. Not all scopes track the same or track repeatably if the internals are not built to stand up to the use.

There aren't too many decent 4x power scopes left.  Weaver brand has just been discontinued, but they make a nice 4x and so does Leupold.

Depending on your budget, there are a few less expensive options that are decent.

How much are you looking to spend?

It is also non-existent in the US.  You have to order it from Europe and there is no state-side support for it.

Thanks

I have a Leupold 2-7x32mm rimfire scope on my Magnum Research .22. It has a very simple BDC reticle. It's been a fantastic scope.
Chance favors the prepared.

That's a shame Ilya, they are some really good scopes.
