Wait, what??  I thought Ed had passed and you were really his son, just keeping his legacy going.

Ed is to old to have a son.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

Not sure how the math of that one works.....

You can surely be too young to have a son, but the other end of the scale is less clear.

Ed was born before the beginning of time...

So... are you "the Shrug" or a proponent of "the Shrug"???  Would you, given the chance "shrug"???

Personally, I have not totally lost my faith in humanity... human kind.   I still believe in the human spirit, the overall excellence of human-kind.  I believe in "Truth, Justice and the American Way".  I believe in Superman... as Lex Luthor said "there is a strong streak of GOOD in you".  His implication was that it has to be eradicated... my belief is it has to be promulgated.
Like your handle... just trying to understand where it comes from, what it means...

I still have faith in (most) people individually, but not so much for the societies that they form - especially as molded and constrained by the governments that they must exist under.

Some of my beliefs were influenced by Rand via her novels, but I submit that she surely got some things wrong - her atheism and lack of every really having a family were her tragic flaws, IMHO.  That said, she had it mostly right on the parasite state and their concurrent disdain for and need for the creators of the world.....the Destroyers..... And here we are.

So I discovered permaculture and it’s essentially now my vehicle for a partial “shrug” or “shrug-lite” or whatever you want to call it.  Once implemented, it will also allow me to shoot more often (pulling the comment back to some relevance to the host forum here).

Perhaps this makes things a bit more clear?

Love the biplane scene!

Ya got the remake where Kong blows on Jessica Lange to dry off her dress?
