I just purchased a Bushnell Elite 4500 6-24X with duplex reticle and side parallax, However, it won't arrive for a few more weeks because it's on back order and I still have time to change my mind. Total price with discounts came in at $351 and it seemed like a great buy to use as an informal target scope at the range on a 223 Vanguard. Other considerations were the Weaver T24 and Weaver's V6-24x, but the sale price seemed too good to pass up.
My question is, does anyone have first hand experience with this scope in 6-24X with side focus? What are your thoughts about the size of the reticle subtension at 100 yards? Does the image remain relatively flat such as noticeable barrel or pincushion distortion during power changes? Does the light transmission fall off bad at the higher settings? Any feedback is welcome. I've seen plenty of reviews on the older 4200 series with the front AO, but not much with the newer style with the side focus knob for parallax.
