I have an old Remington 511 bolt 22lr that I need to scope. Just plinking, soda can accuracy if you will. LOL Don't want to spend a lot of money but want good glass. Narrowed it down to these two:

I have the Viper on my Ruger M77 and love it. The C3 reticle just works for me. I am leaning to the Viper mainly because I could move it to another rifle if I wanted later. Any real reason not to go with the Viper for my intended use? (even though it is not intended to be rimfire scope)

Well, I am but the rifle isn't! LOL
Weaver has a two-piece base for very little and I have a 'smith who can drill and tap for those. Really couldn't see any reason the Viper wouldn't do for what I need but thought I'd ask.

I have the viper 2x7 with the dead hold reticle on my MP15-22 and love it!  It's a tack driver at the range and great for squirrels!  Gotta love the Viper.
