I saw a Swarovski that had a built in laser rangefinder and it was a very interesting scope so these should be also. The military probably has some technology like this. But then they have thermal and night vision and an unlimited budget. Even a rangefinder that would side mount to a tactical scope or accessory rail system would be a welcome accessory.  The M-4 and M16a2  already have all kinds of crap hanging on them why not a rangefinder - DUH.

To the best of my knowledge, the military does not yet have anything like this.  They are looking at it though.  The next generation night/vision thermal imager will not have a range finder in it.  Maybe the generation after that will, although the range at which night vision sights are typically utilized really does not need a rangefinder.  Sniper teams typically have a spotter with a daylight laser rangefinder, so they are not especially concerned with an integrated unit.  They are however very much concerned with the reliability of the piece.  I would expect Elcan to have something in the works along these lines.

How about a .50 cal sniper scope with internal rangefinder and onboard computer that self-adjusts point of impact to correspond to its range measurement.     ( point and click technology)

It could be even better if it could be attached to a portable wind speed and direction monitor.

Quick Chris call EOTech we could be onto something   .

Zeiss will have a 3-12 X 56 laser rangefinding scope in the US this summer.

Interesting. I believe that Swarovsky had one a few years ago. Didnt go very far from what I remember. Price point was a few grand, so it wasnt for the budget
consciencious shooter. I bet the reason the USA is behind the world is government red tape on the laser frequency and power.
