Anyone have any?
Leupold's custom shop has been a big plus for me in the past. However Zeiss seems to be knocking on their door. Zeiss will change knobs and reticles cheaper than Leupold. Also the few times I've talked to Zeiss customer service they have been very polite and helpful.

Don't know if they will change other reticles but they will definitely not retrofit Rapid Z reticles to your existing scopes.

Sucks when you've been a loyal customer (I own seven of their scopes currently) and you can't get the reticle changed on your $3600 Victory Diarange.

You can get the #43 installed for $90. I assume it's glass etched also?

That sucks....

Swaro will do this with their standard to BR style reticles... the only thing they won't do is change it from non-illumination to illumination... Big Smile

Actually, Swaro will, just depends on the model.  If it wasn't offered with illumination (i.e Z3/AH), then it can't be done.   It was 8 plus weeks and 450$ to convert my PH series scopes to illumination.  I decided to pass...

Really, thanks brodeur272 that's nice to know!!! A few years ago when discussing z6 reticle changes with SONA they said no. Was the eight weeks turn around because they had to ship it across the pond?? During my conversation with them they also said they only did the illumination builds and repairs in Austria because they only had a few machines that did this. This may have all changed as well since our conversation(s). Swaro really does have great CS.

Mike,

The eight weeks was because it did have to go across the pond.  I have an illuminated PH 1.5-6 that I am changing the reticle on and it had to cross the pond for that as well.  I haven't asked them about my Z6 for a conversion.  Looks like too much work to convert the Z6 to illumination so I could see where they would say no...

I just got back my Zeiss Fl ,I had them retro fit my hunting turrets to target turrets.CS was excellent & timely. They did an excellent job.
I also asked about a change from a Z800 to a Z1000 which they wouln't do but they did offer to changed it out for a #20 Zplex.eems Germany will not change any of the Rapid Z ret.

I agree with this for most of my scopes are zeiss. I called to have rapid z installed, and was told it wasnt gonna happen. I got pissed, and decided I will buy vortex from here on out. Had some questions about their new hs lr series, called them up today, and they were so nice and polite, it was sick.
I will be buying vortex for two new savages that I am building. If I have good luck with them, I will sell my conquests, and buy all vortex scopes. I just hope I am happy with their glass, the conquest glass is awfull nice!

All,
If you look on Zeiss' website, it CLEARLY states that the Rapid Z reticles will not be installed on scopes that do not have Rapid Z.  Perhaps it leaves open the question whether they will or should do a substitution if you already have a Rapid Z.  However, when I read it, I was quite certain that if you did not already have a Rapid Z reticle, they would NOT put one in.

This is under their Rapid Z header:

Retrofitting Rapid-Z® Reticles
Please be advised that there is currently no available option to retrofit the ZEISS Rapid-Z® reticles into previously purchased ZEISS riflescopes with a standard reticle. This is to ensure that customers who want to purchase a new ZEISS riflescope with the Rapid-Z® reticle are given priority attention. We thank you for your understanding.
