I had a lot of success hunting last week using my GP-100 357 Magnum Franken-Ruger.
This revolver is stupid accurate.
Used Hornady Ammo: 158 grain XTP Hollowpoint.  MV was 1471 fps.
Even set up Thursday night to look for elk, but they didn't show.
Had a great time!
Just thought I would put all four animals in one post.
A good friend of mine, Dan E., also shot his first every deer with my FR.
That makes 5 animals in 2.5 days.

189 yards sitting position with Bog-Gear.  Double-punched both shoulders.

40-50 yards standing with the buck facing me.  Buck ran about 40 yards and expired

85 yards quartering shot, standing using Bog-Gear as a monopod...hurried shot.
On both does I was intentionally trying to avoid the shoulders to see what the bullet would do on tissue only.

99 yards double kneeling using Bog-Gear

Nice!!!
When you are dead, you don't know you are dead.It is difficult only for others.

It is the same when you are stupid.

Wow Earnie, that's awesome! Congrats.
If we're not suppose to eat animals...how come they're made of meat?

Well done!

I used to have a stock GP-100 .357 that was stupid accurate too.  Like an idiot I sold it.

Often wondered the effective range of the 357 on deer sized game up around here in the 150 lb class... good to see its effective.

You are welcome.
The 158 grain XTP Hollow Point is designed to work in the velocity range from 700-1400 fps.
