I am a new member with a question on scope caps. it seems you fellas know quite a bit about them.  I'm looking for Butler Creek caps.

Scope #1: Nikon p-223 3-9x40   Eye:1.690"  OBJ:1.985"
Scope #2: Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10x44   Eye:1.600"  OBJ:2.030"
Scope #3: Nikon BDC 3-9  Eye:1.540"  OBJ:1.870"
Scope #4: unknown "Fang crossbow"  Eye:1.500"  OBJ:1630"

Even with these measurements, I'm having trouble accessing a chart on Amazon to pick from. If you lady's and gentlemen have a site I can go to to obtain these caps using an available chart that would be great.

Thanks in advance!

Try another brand. Butler creeks are garbage. They used to be good, but they are not made well now. I break the ones i have often. Started converting to the Vortex ones and they seem better. If u buy Leupold scopes, you can get their nice alumina flip up caps. They are nice.
Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service don't mean a thing when your gun fails during a zombie attack.

I have been reading of falling quality from Butler Creek....... That's why I'm here. I'll try the Vortex site to see if I can find better ordering information for the scopes I mentioned.

You have all you need to start shopping, you measured your scopes. Try the swfa web page right here, they host our conversation.
As far as caps, the ones made by Vortex are probably the best, certainly better than Butler Creek.
There is also another brand, Bushwhacker, see if they still exist.
The Vortex caps are very good and durable, but they are also thicker and take more space and may get in the way of your bolt if the scope is mounted low, and the rifle has a bolt.
I tried using a Vortex cap on a Winchester just this morning, it was a no go. Wwith a Butler Creek, i had no problem.
Among Butler Creek caps, the ones with a yellow tab are a bit better, the ones with a red tab are pretty much disposable.
I've also seen good caps supplied by Nikon.
I also found that caps with a flip tab, like the Butler Cree, are not very good. They open too easily and too often, and they fall off or break. More important is for the caps to stay put and not break.

Thanks for the advice fellas,

Butler creek apparently falls far short in quality.
I ended up going with the Vortex defender caps. I like the rubber boot that it uses. I have 3 of the Nikon p-223 scopes and they all measured a bit different.

Lots of options for the OBJ..... 5 sizes with good explanation of there range of fit.  But only one choice for the eye piece. It's called the E-10. They don't say much about it's range of fit.

After watching some guy beet the Vortex cap with a hammer and twist it into a pretzel on You tube, I knew it was the one for me.  Made in America, lifetime warranty.  I ordered direct from Vortex.

Pricey. $40.00 per scope, but after thirty years of messing with those dang bungee cord caps I simply cant take it any longer. Also while in the stand, I can close them in light rain without fishing around for the old stile.

Thanks again for some good advice.
