Just a follow up on the twin Olympic Arms UMAR 22-250 my friend bought that wouldn’t shoot a group at 100 yards.

He contacted OA on 8-5-13 and informed them of the problems encountered with this rifle and the trouble shooting steps taken to verify.  They instructed him to send it back and they would get right on it when the upper arrived.  We packaged the upper and sent it out the evening of 8-5-13.  UPS tracking shows that the upper was signed for at 9:38 AM 8-12-13.  On 8-16-13 around noon FedEx delivered the upper to his house!!!

The paper in the box stated they replaced the barrel.

We installed the upper, SWFA SSALT mount with SS10X42 and took the rifle to the range ASAP.   The rifle shot 5 groups of 5 back to back.  Going by the target grid it shot roughly a 1.5” group every time.  This was with hand loads Remington brass trimmed to 1.90”, Winchester LR primers, 33.6 gr Varget, 55 gr Hornady SP with a C.O.A.L of 2.35”………. so nothing special about the ammo.

So long story short Olympic Arms came through and made it right. Excellent

I have an OA upper and it has been good. I too heard bad things about their standard ARs, but their less mainstream stuff is much better.

I ha rn't dealt with service, but have heard good things.

Avoid their M4 stuff and you should be good.
