Fellas, I've a Bausch&Lomb Elite 4200 2.5-10x and I did at one time measured both occular and obj ends and went with the 40mm oc. and a 50mm for obj B.C.flip ups........unfortunately they both are abit too big. Months later I took out my digy calibper and measured again and it is 39mm oc. and 49mm obj. so what Butler Creek flip ups to I need?
This scope I will place on my 9.3x64 1909 Argy.....for now. I am trusting that funds will be available soon and buy from SWFA the Zeiss Davari 1.5-6x, would be a fantastic scope to have on! appreciate the help. |

Dan
Are you sure on the OBJ cover??? Butler creek says the size 13 is 1.53 inches. TheSimmons 22 mag 3-9x32AO scope measures 1.73 inches according to my dial caliper. That would mean the right OBJ cover would be either the size 20 or 21... correct?

You got the objective right but, the eye piece, not so much. Just received them today and the flip up eyepiece OD is a touch smaller than the scope's OD.

I'm really sorry that happened. Those covers can and do vary in size some. The objective on my 2-7x32 Viper takes a #13 obj where others have used #15's which is to loose on mine.. We're talking 39.6mm (#15) compared to 38.9 (#13). Evidently you need a #40 and I'll make a note of that for future reference. I hope it wasn't too much of a hassle for you.

I bet you are confused. I confused myself.
#11 eye at 39.4mm is to small so a #13 (there is no #12) at 39.9mm should fit.
SORRY (again)

Are you meaning a 4.5-14x42 Leica? eye - #14 obj - #33
I can't find a reference for what fits that Zeiss but their web site shows OD diameters of the ocular and objective at 45mm and 56mm respectively. If they're accurate specs: eye - #20(45.1mm) obj - #39(56.4mm,which is as close as any #'s come to 56mm). HOPEFULLY someone having that scope and covers will post.

There lies the problem with the Zeiss,I tried a #20 & it doesn't fit[to large so is the #19] #39 object ,fits perfect.
The Leica is a ER 3.5-14x42 [the object is probably a #33]
Thanks for the help, guess when I order the caps from SWFA they will have hand fitted the caps.
FYI a friend of mine has the Zeiss FL 6-24x56 Illum.& can you believe it ,there is no sun shade available from zeiss. We tried the Conquest & the Hensoldt nothing works! So her's a guy with a $3k scope & a black piece of card board around the end of the scope. He's a 1k yrds competition shooter he's very good.
When I see him I always kid by saying Buy Cheap,You get Cheap Edited by stickbow46 - March/14/2011 at 13:55 |

Hard to believe that out of Zeiss.
#20 eye is the largest daimeter BC shows. How about this (45.1mm = 1.76"):

I ass-u-me the cap should be a #17
