    Posted: July/07/2008 at 22:24
Hello:

I have a Bush Master AR 15 16 inch heavy barrel with the flat top. Most scopes are too long for proper scope placement as the turret places the scope too far forward for quick target acquisition. Any suggestions? I'd like a 2-6 or seven variable for coyote hunting. Also, I cannot afford a Zeiss, etc,

Thank you

Dan

I like this scope for an AR: http://www.swfa.com/pc-12466-1108-burris-3-9x40-fullfield-tac-30-tactical-30mm-rifle-scope.aspx   There is a good review over on snipercentral.com.

The Vortex Viper 2-7x32 may be a great scope for what you are looking to do.  They have great glass and the one model even has some holdover points you could use for longer range.

If placement is an issue, look at a Larue SPR mount, then you can use whatever scope you want.
