Have any of you used the SST - Are they a little tougher than most non bonded polymer tip bullets or are they nothing but a glorified ballistic tip?
Using a 308 150 grain sst on whitetails - could they withstand shoulder shots? |

innerbond if you like hornady, they are more like the accubond or sciroccoII's, im not sure but i think the sst is more like a ballistic tip.

SST's are fine on whitetails, but they aren't bonded like their Interbond is, as Pyro mentioned. For this reason, if I were using Hornady bullets, I would prefer the IB over the SST. I do believe the SST is a little tougher than the Ballistic Tip, though. The Interbond, Nosler Accubond, and Swift Scirocco II are all very similar bullets, with the Scirocco II being the toughest of those.

I've worked up a load to try this hunting season. I'll give my impressions after I lay one down with the 150's.

I use 150gr sst's in 30.06 for whitetails with good results, I also am in the assumption that the sst is stoughter than the nosler ballistic tip, but no proof to back that statement up.

I used the SSTs in my 270 for a while. Worked great till I hit the shoulder, then it was a big mess. Too much. I would recommend the Innerbonds from Hornady.
