Animals are funny like this from time to time. We had a cat that loved the water, she'd swim in it and play in the sprinklers. She used to go out and play with the fawns and sometimes the does and yearling bucks. She had a young doe follw her home one day and that doe stayed around until the dogs killed the cat a year later. That doe got to be friendly with my mom and dad, and would nudge them while they were doing yard work. I'll see if mom and dad still have pictures of that.

Time for some deer chow. That would be a neat pet.

Try goat chow! At that age they sound the same and look a LOT alike. We were moving farm machinery one day and wondered why the goat was so far down the road. It was a fawn instead. Purina makes Deer and Elk chow!

Bittinger isn't too far from here ....pretty cool... I know a forest ranger out in Western,MD that rescued a fawn that was being dragged off by a bobcat . He nursed it back to health( minus one ear) . Turned out to be a very nice buck as he got older ( named it "jack light ") . Every year he would lock it up in a barn for deer season ,except when old Jack hit 4 years old and the rut hit him hard . This time Jack helped himself to escaping ... He made it through that season, retuning in January for some free chow...Never saw him after that . Goota admit it was weird to pet him and head out on a deer drive the same day--

Way cool. I can't let anyone in my family see the picture of that fawn, though. I'll never get to hunt again. They have all turned against me.
