We shut four cows up this weekend when i was there on Monday morning.  they got to start a high protein diet on them so they will be nice and fat in a few months to take to the butcher.  Thats the way they make their extra money, sell beef to neighbors and friends.  I picked me out a nice 3yr old steer to have made up.  I only keep the ribeye and filets though, they sell the hamburger and all rest.

it all depends on how your doing the beef.  For hamburger it don't matter but for really good steaks that are nice and tender, its the best way to do it.  75-110 Days is what they normally get shut up for depending on the time of year and who's buying the beef.

He's never shown interest in hunting at all until this past dove season.  He had a closest full of shotguns out in the barn that where all rusted and frose up, I took a few and got them back in working condition and he went a couple times, hit a few birds and now has said he may get his liscense for deer too.  We shall see.
