When we were on the farm ours got smoked just once. It was over 300' deep. I remember when it happened, the entire house lit up like a thousand flash bulbs went off at once in every room and then the loudest clap of thunder I ever heard. |
eeeek, I had lightening hit my house while I was in it and that is exactly what I saw. I asked a electrical engineer friend of mine and he said that the high voltage actually electrocutes all of the particles in the air and thats what you see popping and turning blue. He also said that you have to be darn close to a strike to see it and I was lucky to be asking the question!!!!!! That strike did wonders to my house, welded the contacts together on my AC so it ran for 4 days straight, burned a hole in the water line feeding the ice maker which flooded the kitchen, fried the tv, stereo, phones. It arced out of a wall socket to a metal register vent on the floor below and burned a hole thru it. Scariest thing I have ever experienced. |
The well casing was 30' from the house so it was close. Nothing in the house got smoked. Sounds like it did a real number on your place.

I'm a trying! I need life to sloooooooow down a bit.
So here's a true Scooter story. Went fishing last week for a couple of hours at a local Park (for Tahqua it was the Kensington/Island lake). Just decided to walk the banks and forego the boat. I look down and whoa somebody lost a camera. I stuff it in my pocket and go fish for a couple of hours.
Got back to the truck and thought i'd see if there was any identification in the case or electronically on the camera. Power it up and YUCK, naked photos of a not very attractive rather rough looking woman laying on the blanket next to the water where I had found the camera. The pictures went down hill from there with many upclose pics of her nether regions, going to the bathroom and far far more disgusting photos than those already mentioned! THEN, to top of my nausea a video starts playing of her husband and her UH... doing things that should better be left to the privacy of your home NOT on a blanket in broad daylight at a park!!
I dropped it off at the ranger station on the way out with a warning to not view the pics without a air sickness bag and chuckled all the way home... | I have to wonder...... I guess I should ask...... Hey Average Joe...... Did you lose a camera any time recently?????

What would have really got Scooter was if he would have noticed who it was in the pictures and he knew them........

I'm sure the shock factor precluded the use of any recognitive skills.

The same as it was. Still nothing work wise, and little has changed otherwise.

You reckon the fish have a fishy smell now? Was there a slight tint or film present on the water?
