I've been using the Kahles CL 3-9X42 for a couple of weeks no and have come to some conclusions.  This is a great scope.  As Chris mentioned in a previous post, the big ocular puts a huge image in front of your eye that really snaps into view.  It makes all my other scopes seem underpowered by comparison.  Low light performance is as good as you need.  Adjustments are accurate and precise.  I don't much like the 10mm per click graduation.  The knobs on my VX III's are a lot easier to turn with your fingers and are just as precise, and 1/4" clicks are better.  I still like the locking eyepiece and zoom ring on the Leupold better.

I did do a square test on the Kahles, three shot group, then down 6 clicks, group, right 6 clicks, group, up 6 clicks, group, left six clicks, group printed on top or original group.

Is it worth $800.  Probably, but just for one.  I have to think that I could get two Conquests or Leupolds for basically the same money.  This is definitely a better scope, but .... I'll only spend this much money for a very special set up.  I'll get by just fine on my other rifles with the half as expensive scopes.

Thanks for the review.

I would like to look into(no pun intended ) a Kahles scope or binos too.

I have only looked through a couple of Kahles scopes over the years, and a couple of binos.

If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

A year or so ago I bought a Kahles American 2-7X36.  I was very disappointed and sent it back.  This new CL is in a different league.

Sounds like a great scope. Thanks for your review. The Kahles CL is definitely a good idea and I would like to get the chance to give one a try some day.
