Anyone have any recomendations on a synthetic stock for a Remington 700 Short Action 7mm-08.  It has the original wood stock which I am not that fond of.  I have a budget of $500.00 for the stock.

You could buy one of the HS precision stocks that they use on the VS models. They have them in sporter or heavy barreled models.  They are a good stock with a full length aluminum bedding block.

Maybe keep an eye out for a factory Ti stock.  I've had good luck with my 20+ yr old Brown Precision but I have no idea what it would cost to get into one now adays.

Thanks, looked at the website.  It looks like this is for the ADL, I should have stated that I had a BDL.  I will contact them and see what they have for the BDL model.

I would recommend HS Precision or the Bell and Carlson Medalist.

In my opinion, the best aftermarket stock available for your rifle is a McMillan. The only downside is that it takes some time to get one. The suggestion to look for a Remington Ti factory takeoff is a very good option as well. You can usually get one for around $200 in perfect condition.

I just went to Stockys Stocks and got the 2462-Alaskan II Full Block BDL Short Action, thanks for the advice.  When I get the stock and finally get a chance to install the new scope, rings, stock and trigger, I will post picture.
