Settling a disagreement with a friend for my first post here. Which lineup trumps the other in terms of quality/clarity/build/overall etc...

Please explain your decision!

VX II? VS 4200? Definately the 4200.

There really is no need to explain here. If it was between a vx-III or a vx3 and the 4200 I would see where an explanation was necessary but in regards to vx-II the 4200 is better in every aspect.

In that case, how would the 4200 compare to a VXIII?

They are both very close it basically boils down to personal taste. Leupold has a stout and reputable warranty/repair along with better reticles choices etc. The Bushenell 4200 has the Rainguard coating and better glass. I personally am not a fan of all of the crazy reticles so I favor the 4200 seeing as how I would trust either to not malfunction/break the warranty difference is irrelevant to me although Bushnell seems to be pretty good about warranty also. This is the VX-III VS. Bushnell 4200

I also agree the 4200 is a better scope even better than the VX-III.
