Anyone know anything about this rifle?
It came in a large collection we recently acquired. Brady put it on at no reserve and it took off really quick and got several people offering us a good price to stop the auction which we never do.

I don't see why it should be worth as much as a similar model chambered in a less obscure cartridge. but I'm no expert on such matters, either.
Sometimes you just have to let the buyer decide how much it's worth, I guess, (and that's easy to do when he offers more than you want for it!)
Just to be safe, if I were you, I'd tear the recoil pad off it and check it over for the stash of hidden cash, in case somebody knows something about that particular rifle that you don't know yet!

I've thought about getting a Firebird before, great ballistics, but expensive to buy ammo.
It is rare, might be worth something for collectors or wildcatters, but I'd be proud to own it nonetheless, nice gun, great shooter, I bet. |

All true Rancid, and I didn't intend to imply that it wasn't worth much; it's definitely a fine rifle and cartridge...
Just never saw too much popular interest in Lazzeroni's, at least around here.

[Bigsqueeze]The barrels are way too long on both of those rifles!!!!!! Everyone knows you don't need that much barrel for a Lazzeroni and especially a .376 Steyr!!!!!! [/Bigsqueeze] |

What he said. Lazzeroni also will let whoever is willing to pay a handsome fee, use their proprietary rounds. I met a fellow named xxxx xxxxxxx from Nashville, Tn. who builds a custom rifle in Lazzeroni's rounds. He used this as a selling point saying only the best rifle builders was allowed to chamber those rounds. He nor his rifles didn't impress. He also trie to carry my optics - but at my expense of a consignment. Fast talker, reminescent of a #1 scam artist.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy a SAKO in this round, but would be wary of claims such as I stated above about custom builders. Edited by HuntMaster - August/11/2009 at 18:47 |

You don't see many M995 for sale. All I have seen go for $900. and up regardless of caliber. Pros: Big (around .750) bolt, 3 lugs and 3.75 inside mag length. Good base for Large rounds. There were also some factory 338-378 Weatherbys built. Accuflight had a close out 4 or 5 years ago and they went for $499.

The M995 is a nice blend of Tikkaish/Sako parts. I believe Sako's used to come with factory McMillan's. That may be one. Bolt shroud etc looks like a TRG. Nice rifle. NIB and a rare well made rifle. I've been shooting/buying/trading Sakos for years and I've never seen one.

.376 Steyr... I always wanted one, just never could justify to myself. Nice looking rig, though.
Wish my horse wasn't still costing me a fortune.
