Are these available to purchase yet? After tons of reading reviews, etc.; I've finally decided to purchase the new ED2 10x43, but on the Zen-Ray website, it says that it's a pre-order and that they will be available mid November. I went to the SWFA site and it appears you are ordering, but I didn't go all the way through with the order because I don't want to preorder and was unsure. I really can't wait till mid November as my regular hunting season opens in 2 weeks and I'm taking my out of state trip soon after the opener. So are they in stock and ready to ship out yet? If so, where? I'm ready to buy and have them shipped ASAP. Thanks! |

Also, how come no one is really carrying these except for SWFA and Zen-Ray themselves?

muleymaddness, it is sold out on our website. I cannot speak for SWFA. They probably should have some in stock. You can call their customer service to find out.
With our direct sales and partnership with a selected few respected retailers, like SWFA, we are able to pass the savings directly to end users by eliminating multiple layers of middleman. That's the reason we limit the number of participarting retailers to keep the price down.
Another good value is original ZEN ED 10x43 that is on sale for $339 at SWFA.
Thanks a lot!

Thanks Charles for the response. I'm calling SWFA on Monday morning to see if they have any in stock. If they do, I'll own some Zen's on Monday morning.
I saw the original ED on your website for that great price. It is a heck of a price!
I can't believe the reviews I'm reading on these!
Thanks again

Is SWFA the only retailer Zen Ray's are available except direct? Where else are they available...? I don't like to order something without seeing them first... especially optics. NV Hunter |

Not sure. I took the gamble and ordered mine today from SWFA. They should be in tomorrow - can't wait!

I think if you want them you are far better off ordering them from SWFA I have bought lots of stuff from them and had very good success. The Zen Ray should smoke everything in its price range up to about double the price.

muleymadness Any chance you can check back here after season with how your new binos perform. I would be interested to hear how they work. Would you buy them again. I am in need of a good bino. |

I had the pleasure of using the Zen-Ray 10x43 Zen ED2 binocular last week. I was able to use them in all kinds of weather and levels of light. We had along some Zeiss and Swarovski 7x42 binoculars for benchmarking, though the magnification was different. I can tell you that the Zen Ray's are a very good glass for the money. They rate a big thumbs up from me.
I will post a report in the Members Tests and Reviews forum next week.

I got mine in yesterday from SWFA. I am very impressed with them so far, although I have nothing to compare them to other than some low end Nikon binoculars. They are very crisp, and very bright. Also have a great feel to them as well. One place where you see the most noticable difference is when looking into dark areas (i.e. up underneath bushes and shrubs that are in the shade). You can really see the difference.
