Ruger 10/22 Target

   Just bought a Ruger 10/22 Tactical in SS and will get it on THU.

Need suggestion on scope based on below:

Primarily for target 50 to 100 yards.
Preferaly not much $ on scope (nmt $100)
Was thinking of 3-9x40 with Adj Parallax

Thinking of: Simmons, BSA, Weaver, Mueller

Suggestions??

	HAVE USED WEAVER K-6 NOT ADJUSTABLE BUT IN THE PRICE RANGE WITH NO PROBLEMS WITH PAR. Very crisp clear respectable glass for the money.

	Target or Tactical? You say both. If it's a Target then for the purposes you stated of those you listed I would cross off BSA as junk. The Mueller APV is very popular with beginning rimfire target shooters on a budget. They aren't known for repeatability of adjustments but the glass is clear and the company has decent customer service. Not a bad choice if you can live with the limitations. I've used two Simmons on a custom 10/22. A 6.5-20x50 Whitetail Classic. I had one die and kept the replacement as a spare. The glass is clear but the cross hairs are awfully thick for a target rifle. I've also experimented with a 6-24x44 Prohunter. It's clear but lightly built and very loooonnnng. I never really got to give it a through test before my gun club closed. My favorite scope for a custom target 10/22 is the Weaver V24 with a Varmint-Plex reticle. It's probably over your budget but it's a nice scope and should last a lifetime. If you meant the new Tactical then I'd consider a Weaver RV9. A word to the wise. Most 22 target shooting gets done at 50m or less because even the slightest breeze will make that itty bitty bullet drift. Another word... don't expect match accuracy from cheap bulk ammo. If you want to wring the full potential out of that rifle you'll have to invest in 5-6 flavors of match grade ammo and see which yours likes best.

	Sorry, it is the Target model. I will look at the Weaver. I agree with you good (quality ammo is one of the factors to be considered for accuracy. I have bee nusing AGuila match with my CZ 452 and seems to work but when I get the Ruger will evaluate with several brands. Thanks

	I did a Simmons AETEC 4x14 on mine, and really like it - a bit more that you said, @ $189 http://swfa.com/Simmons-4-14x44-Aetec-Master-Series-Rifle-Scope-P3389.aspx I also had Randy at CPC do the full "tune up", including threading the barrel and reciever, and turning down the muzzle end. Amazing work. It likes the Wolf match. I need practice, but 10 rounds in one ragged hole at 50 yards works for me
