In what way Jim? - What concerns me at the moment is that their web-site has gone. They were taking a stack of complaints from dealers/distributors about poor quality. I have 3 HAKKO MP's in various guises and quality is variable. AFAIC now - try before you buy unless you know the source.

Hakko is a Japanese company that makes all the scopes currently sold by Springfield Armory.  They seem pretty decent, I used to shoot one that had an internal anti-cant level, it was a pretty neat feature.  It also had kind of a uniquie range finding reticle.  Seemed clear at the time that I had it, but that was before I really knew much about resolution and ways to determine what your scope is acutally capable of.

Springfield has not had a scope in a few years.  Hakko did make the last scopes they sold.  Hakko has been out of business since earlier this year.

Any scope you buy today with the Hakko name will have no warranty.

I have a 9 year old Springfield Government 4-14x56 Generation 1 that I always believed to be made by Hakko and it does have a MADE IN JAPAN claim on it.  If not Hakko, who then?  It's been fine mounted on an HK91 from the start.  They are hot commodities on Ebay I've noticed this past year.

I've always understood Hakko to have been a small 30 person outfit who began assembling scopes for other people, then they came out with their own lines.

Thanks, Chris
