I think I may have screwed up when ordering my rings and bases. I ordered a set of Millet Tactical rings and a EGW 1 piece 0 MOA base. It seems based on this forum that I should have gotten steel parts instead of Aluminum. Do you guys think it will be worthwhile to return these and exchange for a set of TPS rings and bases? They will probably cost me another $50 or so on top of what I paid for the Millett/EGW. Also has anyone had experience with the Millett tactical rings?
I have a SS 16X42 and shoot mostly at paper, although I'd like to try groundhogs and coyotes. |

I haven't used the millet but the TPS are top shelf. I use EGW and burris tactical on my 300 win mag with no issues. Rings are alluminum and base is steel. It works fine.

You should be fine mixing metals.
I haven't used Millett's rings, but they are probably OK. |

most people never encounter environments that weather will effect the materials in a way that you would need the same. Kinda like if you where in extreme subzero temps the one metal would contract more so than the other and possibly could led to a change same goes for extreme, extreme heat.

I'd go with the TPS rings, for sure. You'll be glad you did.

I just got them in and mounted the scope. WAY too high. Since I will need to exchange for other ones anyways, I might as well get the TPS ones.
