Ok, so I got this scope last week, mounted it to my M1A and after 30 rounds, the internal crosshairs started to rotate counter clockwise 45 degrees.
It has been sent back, but I am wondering if I should expect this again and/or if I should return it and look into a Millet Tactical scope. |

Probably just a lemon that came through. I'd try it again. Vortex has unquestionably warranty coverage. |

The M1As are incredibly hard on scopes. They have recoil going both way and have a lot of moving parts on then slamming back and forth. Many many scopes even high dollar scopes have been damaged on M1As. If it breaks again, I would try something with a very high recoil rating like a Bushnell 4200 or s SWFA Super Sniper.
Millets are crap scopes, I would not bother with one of them either. They are constantly talked about having many problems. Edited by supertool73 - June/17/2010 at 14:44 |

Better chance of getting a lemon Millett than 2 Vortex lemons.
I agree, Vortex has great customer service. Avoid Millett at the moment, quality issues. Let us know how the new scope runs. I hope Vortex isn't slipping on their QC now too. |

Only reason I thought millet was good was due to a fellow m1a owner has 2 and loves them

There are people that can go buy a walmart blister packed bushnell (owner of millet) and put it on a heavy recoiling gun and it last years and have a lemon out the gate with a Zeiss..... Every company has slips and let a bad one out once in a while. I even had a lemon with vortex once, they rectified the problem very very fast and it didnt' turn me off at all because like Forest Gump says "sh*t happens" and nobody is immune

Huh, I had a Lemon with Vortex once too. But they did take care of me real quick. No complaints in that department.
