Hey, I'm looking at a trijicon tr20-1g 3-9x40 and a leupold vx-3l 4.5-14x50 both are duplex reticles, and i cant decide between the two. One of the scope will be going on my new 300mag. The thing is i live in an area full of multiple surroundings, i have long open fields and thick cover. so my my shots will vary. This gun will be used for deer, bear and moose. Any suggestions? thanks

Same sort of issue here in Western Washington. I'd go with the Trijicon. Now do you want a red or green reticle with that?

I would spend a tad more and go with the 5 to 20 x 50 with green mil dot reticle. It is very nice and 5x is low enough to hunt stalking game. The tactical knobs will allow you to dial in correction for trajectory or you can use the mil dots like a balistic reticle just run a balistic chart in mil as well as in MOA http://www.jbmballistics.com/cgi-bin/jbmtraj_simp-5.1.cgi
