BTW BigD.   I tried that handheld release i bought on AT and I dont' care for it to much.  I wasn't planing on switching before season but I know i won't be now.  Shortens my LOP and doesn't fit right in my hand.

 Trouble with some beginners is that they'll develop a bad flinch after getting stung just a few times if not wearing a guard. Two things I look for first before I let them shoot are proper draw length of the bow and how they grip.  Both if wrong will turn their elbow right into the line of that string.
