Any of you Gentlemen have experience with Warne QD rings on Ruger rifles?
I´m planning a set for my 375 Ruger for my Namiba hunt next spring.
One can say that the original Riger rings are sort of QD, but then one need some tool of a sort, and I thought that Warne might be a "just as good" solution.
Scope to be used is the 30 mm Zeiss Classic in 1,5-6x42 and I like to fix it as low as poosible,
Right now it sits in original Ruger medium rings, but Ruger dont have low rings in 30 mm.¨
Or are there other brands that I have missed?

Seawolf - I do not have experience on Warne QD for Rugers, but I have several Ruger M77 RSI Full Stock, which I rigged with expensive Murphy Precision Picatinny bases, on which I mounted Warne low QDs. The result is very satisfying, and I do not notice a change of zero for hunting purposes when taking scopes on/off.
Calibers, however, are very different, since mine are 308/ 7mm-08/ 257R. So it is not clear if you would get the same results. Edited by WestOfPecos - September/20/2010 at 10:53 |
