I'm interested in buying one of the legendary best values for the money super sniper 10x scopes.  By reputation alone it sounds like everyone should have at least one of these scope.  When I'm trying to decide on what to buy, I run into a question.

Besides the obvious focus on the side rather than at the eye peice is there any difference between the two SWFA 10x scopes?

No.  its all personal preference.  I have used both, both function flawless.  If you want to look at the numbers on the ring for assurance then the sidefocus is easier to do than the eye because of not having to lift your head up. If you know what your doign though your arent' looking at the numbers but rather the sight image and it makes no difference.

No, I have both. I Like the side focus a little better ( easy to use while on target for me) but both are the same everything else.

now if you really want to up the ante, get a 10X HD or 3-9.  You think the standard 10X's are good these will knock you out the water.Wink

Well.....

I've been thinking of buyign one of these for forever it seems like now.  I've tried ordering the regular $300 SS 10X and each time it was out of stock.  I'd get impatient and cancel the order.  Today, I just placed an order for the $400 SS10X and I hope it's everything those scopes are cracked up to be.

Personally, I like the rear focus model and probably would not shell extra $100 for side-focus.  However, both work fine to the best of my knowledge.

I have had both and prefer the side focus model but I like the rear focus 6x42 model better than any of the higher power models that I have had. The 6x42 is the brightest in low light and 6x will allow you to hand hold it and shoot or to get on target well under 100 yds with moving game.

Well, I'll be able to let you all know how much I like it when it arrives next Monday.  I can hardly wait.
