Hello,I was wondering how well these perform.I don't seem to be able to find any reviews on these other than their website saying that they are used olot by police, contractors, utilities and the like. Also, is it better to have a seperate sending and recieving tube in the range finder ? Any other suggestions are welcome! Thank you.

Never heard of it.  Is it by a major manufacturer?  It's hard to beat a Bushnell on the low to mid end and Leica on the high end for laser range finders.

the optilogic optics are probably in line with the bushnell 600 quality wise. the advantage of the optilogic is it has the ability to range horizotal distance. i hunt in some steep terrain with bow and rifle. when taking a 70 yard bow shot up hill at a javelina  5 or 10 yards of horizontal makes a big differance in arrow trajectory. on a 450 yard rifle shot straight down at a coues deer at a sharp angle it pay's for itself again. it's a lot easier than drawing the pithagrium theorum on a flat rock with a stick  remeber that gravity is not effected by horizontal distance and you will see why this is a great product. if i was mostly hunting in flatter terrain you can't beat a leica though.

Thanks for the heads up on the Opti-Logic.  Sounds like a pretty trick piece (like all of your toys).

You have about 38 more post before you get an upgrade.  But I might make a special title just for you.

BTW I put your mug in our latest catalog that we're printing 100,000 of right now.  Hope it doesn't hurt our sales any.

Read a couple places that Pentax 800 and Opti-logic 800 are the same, both work can work off horizontal distance.  Pictures of both seem to support that.  Also, it is pythagorean and it was a long long ways away.Wink

ks barter you sound as if you might have been in a similar situation as far as steep down hill volley of fire on a 300 lb bear at 500 yards. am i correct in assuming this. thx for spelling help i am also assuming you are probably a school teacher? keep practicing with that .260 of yours you will need it.

chris i am more adept at lurking on the net but i will shoot for the 45 post benchmark

I took one to the Rockies last year , it is pretty decent at ranges under 600 yds. . , it is hard to get a reading in broken terrain and at any thing over 700 yds. I spent 5 min trying to get a consistent range on a elk at 7 hundred something yds. . finally I decided to go with 712 yds. . , fired missed, moved up to a 750 estimate,  elk took off . any how it is what it is a decent midrange range finder. I have since bought a G7 loved its accuracy but it was  kind of complicated  but manageable . the deal breaker was its bulk. bigger than my binocs. I now use a Leica 1600b that fits my needs.
