Shot my .300 WSM at 300 yards. Steel is 5x10x3/8" mild steel. Target dot is 2". Range was lasered.

Good shooting Bill! I'm looking at a new club because of the ranges many of you folks have. Our max at Western Wayne County Conservation Club is 200. It is a fine club but distance is lacking.

I am really lucky, I am surrounded by LOTS of National Forest and open Desert. Shooting at any distance is limited to my willingness to haul out the target.

Nice shooting Bill! Looks like you need to invest in some AR-400 steel, and an ATV to haul it out there.Bucky

The good news is, I have worked with structural steel for so long, I know where everyone's drop piles are. I have tried to convince the wife that I need a quad, but its not working.

Good shooting, the steel I have just digs with a 338 at 100 yards. I like it so far. its heavy and who I take shooting don't like toting it 300+ yards. I did some shooting today but the North carolina wind was killing me, wet ground so shot out of the back of the truck (that) sucked but I was shooting.

Good shooting. Shooting steel is fun, Hauling it around not so. Nice to have a range where you can drive to the drop off points!

Easy, take her along once and get her to lug a target or two! Bucky

Incidentally, a wheeled shopping basket of modified golfbag cart or pneumatic wheeled hand truck beats the heck out of hand carrying styeel targets.

Nice shooting! I like shooting steel as well. One of the ranges I shoot at used to have about 6 steel targets hanging at the 200yd and 3 or 4 at the 300yd ranges. I was told they removed them due to the possibility of bullets going out of the range. Which made no sense to me since the angle they were hanging at would have put them into the ground.

Getting close to that... Not much left of my Savage is Savage anymore. I put it in a Choate stock, and switched out the barrel for McGowan. I am going shooting in the morning, I will get more target pics.

Those 300's are bad to the bone! My brother shot my ar500 steel plate with his at 100yards using a federal fusion bullet! It when clean through it like a laser beam!!!! Kinda pissed me off! That 10inch steal plate was $35 bucks!!!!
