    Posted: February/06/2011 at 17:48
Hi All,
I've got a SCAR 16S that I really like, and I want to put a 1-4 scope on it.  I'm still looking at the ACOGs too.  But everytime I'm thinking I like em, the price tag scares me away.  For scopes I've been looking at the following:

-Viper PST 1-4
-Burris XTR 1-4
-Trijicon Accupoint 1-4

The Burris seems allright.  TheAccupoint is good but I kinda get the fish eye thing.  and I'm starting to really get up in the higher (for me) prices.  I like the reticle of the PST and some things that I hear but nobody has one locally for me to look through.  Any help is great.

I have.  I don't think they are even available yet. Speaking of which, I'm not sure how available the Viper PST is.  I'm not a fan of first focal plane scopes.

The XTR 1-4 is a good optic. Very durable. Also, it is a true 1 power optic.

You might also look into the new Fullfield 1-4. It is also illuminated.

I have the AccuPoint 1-4x24 , green triangle.  I've been favorably impressed, especially at 1x.  Quite quick in my experience - very good box at 1x - although the box tightens up noticeably at 4x.  And yesterday , I ordered the SWFA SS 1-4 (capped / mil donut).  It seems to be an extremely well thought out design and if executed as well as it appears to have been designed - should be an excellent value.

The Trijicon 1-4 is among the best, very good optic.

The PSTs have been out for a very short time and I hear good and "not great" things.  I see many for sale as "slightly used", that is a concern.  It might be a great deal, it might be someone else's problem.  I ain't buying one for now.

I have no experience with the Burris.

If you spent the money on a SCAR, don't skimp on the optic.  The new SS1-4 is just out, should be fantastic (I  ran the prototype pretty hard, great scope, the production should be better, I'll have a thorough review up soon.)

Aside from the SS1-4X, look at the Nightforce 1-4, very good scopes.  I also hear great things about the S&B 1.1-4's, but haven't used one yet.  And theya are $2K+.

The Trijicon is safe, the SS is a great scope at a great price, the PST is a gamble but you might get lucky - and you might not.

I'd get the SS1-4.  SWFA backs their gear.

I would narrow it down to the SS 1-4 and the Trijicon, with the glass and reliablity of the SS i may have to give it the nod just because.  They built them like tanks for a reason and the illumination while is battery dependent, was very well thought out

On a few forums around.

Again, I haven't touched one, I haven't seen one in person, I have zero first-hand experience with the PST.

I'll try to get my hands on one shortly and run a side-by-side.
