I’m looking for a 6-24 scope for a 10/22 build I’m working on.  The gun will be used mostly for bench rest with some off hand for those pesky tree rats. Trying to keep the scope under $600. Here is a list of what I have come up with so far. Now, which one? Or, am I missing a better option?

Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x40

Sightron SII Big Sky 6-24x42

Weaver Classic V 6-24x42

Nikon Monarch 6-24x50

Why do you want a 24 power scope on 22 caliber rifle? Save money by using a 4-16 power and still have all the power you need for the range of 22 caliber performance. At 4 power you will be able to find the target easier and 16 power will be usable. The 24 power will not work that well when it's hot outside. This is MHO.Smile

Welcome

Johnny has a good point. I have aftermarket barrels on 2 10/22's and a little past 100-125 yards I would only be getting a good picture of crappy groups due to limitations of the round. That's me though.

Not a junker in the scopes you've narrowed it down to. I'd go with less magnification and a lower bottom end. Just my .02

If God didn't want me to play with it, he'd of made my arms shorter.

I understand what you are saying but, the main purpose of this build is tiny little groups at 50 and 100 yards. Many people use 36x and higher for this. I'm not into any competitions or anything but, it's nice to be able to clearly see the holes at 50 and 100 yards. I really like the Bushnell Elite 6500 4.5-30X50 but that twice the price of the others listed.

Of the one's you mentioned any will do what you want. The only one I woud not go with is the Nikon because of the increased mounting height the 50mmobj will require

It also only goes down to 50 yds on the AO. It's out.

Save some $ and pick up the 6.5x20 Viper at $399.  Search the reviews and customer service on Vipers and they are tough to beat.  I used to shoot paper with a .22 at 100 yrd and used a $375 Weaver T36- great scope, good glass and tracked perfectly- just not hunting friendly. You could see the wings on a fly at 200 yards.

Bushnell or Nikon, I have both and love them

Thanks. I took some of the advice and went with the Sightron Big Sky in 4-16. Love the scope.

I think you made a wise choice. Nice looking 10/22
