For entry team work you have to have an illuminated optic and typically that is either an Aimpoint or an ACOG or EOTech but for someone who is a soldier deployed to Ascrackistan it makes a lot of sense to have some kind of a magnified optic in your gear so that you can use it for long range and for observing at a distance. I think there are a number of people who set their optics in quick release mounts to change depending on what they want to do at that point in time.  Usually if something does one thing really well it probably sucks at something else. Scopes with small objective dont do well in low light (not a problem for range queens huge problem for soldiers).  Anything that runs on battery power usually gives up at the wrong time. For all around gunfighting it is realy hard to find anything that will do better than the ACOG.  I'd be pretty comfortable with a 1.8 to 10x44 U.S.Optics  as the only scope especially if it could be supplimented with a green laser for close in work like the one from Crimson Trace.

I know on the Premier, it functions like a red dot on 1-3x, and then somehow switches to a FFP Gen2 mil-dot! Pretty trick, especially if it works as advertised.
If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?
