hey guys how does the burris fullfield II (4.5-14x42) compare to the other scopes in the price range(bout 350)...i am looking to mount it to my savage 300 win mag model 111 (its one that came as a package from the factory with a simmons 8-point 3-9x32 that i didnt like at all)...i am fairly new to hunting last fall being only my 2nd year even holding a gun not to mention killin animals lol...i am lookin for a scope that preforms great within 100 yards (lets face it most kills happen under 100 yards) and also does great 500-700yards....the father in law says the only way to go is with a leopold but everything i read says burris is better....any help would be greatly appreciated

Burris..... Leupold.... Both will be good. I personally think the Leupold is overpriced due to all of their marketing and no question ask customer service. Yes the FFII will compare and beat out scopes in the $350 range. I really like the ballistic plex reticle. Plus you get a free spotter as well.

Burris 4.5-14x42 Fullfield II..... $339.95

ya i was leaning towards the burris i was just unsure because up here in canada the exact same scope is 620 and the spotting scope is over 150 so i can buy it from the states way cheaper....how will it handle the recoil of a 300 win mag

Recoil won't be a problem.
