Woooh, you got on your knees before the dark lord?  Exactly what were you doing on your knees?   Wink

Either I was very drunk that day or that was some other dark lord.  Heck, at the most recent dark lord convention I went to, there were so many of us anyone could get confused.

As for an upgrade. Vortex, Nikon  are great options with good glass. for the money.  Especially once you get into the $200+ range.
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Yep.  When you first came up with it, I figured I'll just play along and it will go away naturally.  Yeah, right!

Oh, and as far as this goes: by all means question both my knowledge and experience.  It keeps in my toes.

Besides, the nice thing about this forum is that we have a serious number of highly knowledgeable people all looking at this from somewhat different angles.

Between all of us here, we can usually come up with reasonable answers to most questions.

You guys are just TFF but in all seriousness.... the DLOO is DA MAN!! I picked my scope from his list and if it holds up over time then I made the right choice. It is some serious glass.

A gotcha post.

Vortex are Chinese made but there is a difference between them and Chinese crap.
It boils down to the parent company's standards, goals, and market share they are targeting.
Chinese products held to a higher QC level with advanced R&D can be a viable competitor in the optics world and leaders in the bag for buck catagory. (example, Zen-Ray binocs)

Isn't the Crossfire the only Vortex made in China? That being said, I'm not sure there is a huge difference between that and other "Chinese crap". There are a ton of negative reviews of the Crossfire series out there and there seems to be an extremely high failure rate from what I've read on other forums.

That being said, aren't the Diamondback and the Viper made in the Philippines? I've yet to hear anything bad about either of those two. The Crossfire seems to be the only one to avoid.

Correct.

All Vipers are made in the Phillipines including the newer HS and PST scopes.
