3_tens decided to take the back strap of a pig this last weekend and add it to his buffet that he created Saturday night.
First of all, well let's start from the beginning. Rifledude knows how to grill a ribeye like a champ. Top ten best steaks I have ever ate(awesome).
On Saturday night, 3_tens had put together a very creative pit. My friend is huge into to dutch oven cooking and we made him a metal pit with rotisserie and pot hangers. I have seen the cinder block and brick style, but 3_tens blew me away.

When I walked back into camp, I see a Hardi backer box, with smoke coming out of it. I asked him what he had going on. He said it was his pit style barbeque. He was trying to figure out what the lightest pit would be to carry. What he did was angle iron, hardi board, and roofing tin. With expanded metal to hold the food.

He opens it up and yard birds are on the grill smoking nicely, with some BBQ sauce that he whipped up on the fly(it was fantasitc) But Colbi was leary of trying to pig at first, then gave it a shot.

This is GOOD. he exclaimed.

Long story short, if you have an opportunity to eat with 3_tens, you won't be disappointed.

Great job buddy.

I'm glad you mentioned this rig. It's so practical and easy that even I could do it. Big Grin

All kidding aside, Lile ROCKS as a cook and the feast he prepared was out of this world good.

Thanks!  I didn't know if you liked it. There were left overs. Thats unusual. Of coarse I thought there were going to be 8 or 9 there. Glad everyone else had as much fun as I did. I didn't get a pic of the birds on the grill. The grill disassembles with 12 wing nuts.
Folks ain't got a sense of humor no more. They don't laugh they just get sore.

Need to follow the rules. Just hard to determine which set of rules to follow
Now the rules have changed again.

Lile,
Those were some big birds that you smoked that night on top of all the other great things that were on Ted's buffet table.
It was all fantastic

Darn You Skylar!!!

Really Sad  I'm hungry again!!!  I've been die'n to try Lile's cooking ever since the 1st hog hunt!  His portable grill is a study of simplicity, genius and a labor of love!

You better believe I'm going to make one of my own.
