Evening again gents.
What a day. Narrowly averted a disaster with health insurance by just hours. Good thing a friend of mine called and made me aware of what was happening. Turning 65 shouldn't be this hard or confusing. Just remember, when you put your welfare in the hands of government of any kind, they are going to screw you at the first opportunity. Now I'm going to be paying to much for insurance, but at least I'll have insurance for the next year.

Afternoon gents, you too Ed. 32 for a high, overcast, windy, with snow flurries. And there are still TV educated morons that think this is part of Gorebal warming.

My pension through the State includes health insurance, but at 65 you have to go on Medicare. You have to get part A which is free (you've already paid for it) and part B which cost $135 a month, but part B is optional. In my case the State will provide Part D at no cost, but I have to have both Part A and B to get it. Okay, I did that and signed up for everything. Then I was notified by fellow officers that if I was still employed by an employer that provides health insurance, which I am since I'm not retiring (thank you social security; NOT) then I am not eligible for the State Part D supplement, and if I am not taking the State provided benefit, then my wife is not eligible either. She is already on Medicare, but her supplements were covered through the State and my pension benefits. There is a pending lawsuit over this since the health insurance is a benefit that has already been paid for by the members, and members under 65 receive the regular health insurance provided by the state even if employed by an employer that provides health insurance. I'm having to pay for part B, and insurance through work for myself and Mrs. BF, because the State refuses to pay for something that I've already paid for. Mind you Bud, this isn't something that should affect you, unless you have some kind of agreement/contract with your employer, and then it's going to depend on the contract. |

Sorry to hear that Lynn. Logic and government are two mutually exclusive terms.

Thanks for sharing Lynn. Between you and Wes I've received quite an education about the ins and outs of our wonderful government.

Mornin gents. We started out at a blistering we're doomed global warming temperature of 19 degrees, and it's going to rapidly raise to a sweltering 37 degrees today, and the clouds are all going away. We need to repent for our sins by driving ourselves back to the stone age in electric mini cars; just as soon as we can charge the batteries from the tiny solar panel, or the coal fired power plant
