Hi All
I am looking for experiences of others who shoot little critters from 25y-500y and use a scope with Tactical knobs. I shoot rabbits here in New Zealand and am looking to extend my range. I have a ruger hawkeye 243 and want some glass on it that will help me do this. I am pretty sure 6-24x is what I am after. So here are the specs 6-24x limit is $500 US$ And the kicker.... Able to be exported to NZ. Thanks in advance |

Good Luck SWFA cant export out of country. I think you will be limited to what you can find there and I can tell you that $500 wont do it here. What you probably should look for is a Zeiss Conquest.

Yeah I realise SWFA cant export
However there are some companies that can. I was more after suggestions of what scopes members have used with Tactical turrets that they would recommend. Barska, Mueller, Weaver etc For shooting out to 500 |

Kia Ora Tone,
Have a looksee on the net if you can find a Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x50 with tactical turrets, I´m pretty sure they will be "cheapish".
If you go to fishnhunt forum there´s a thread atm at the optics section regarding import of scopes.
Have shot rabbits in N.Z. with a "covered turrets" 4200 and it was just fine once you got the hang of the hold-over bit. The glass is good enough - it´s a loooong scope though.....

You won't find many, if any, here who recommend Barska, seldom Mueller...

Yes I did fancy that model. I was just a little put off that it didnt have Tactical turrets. Otherwise I would have been ordering!! |

i have the Mk4 with target turrets, and prefer them to M1 turrets. don't let target turrets put you off.

While not actually tactical turrets it does have "target" turrets under the caps. You can always just leave the caps off Edited by SVT_Tactical - December/19/2011 at 07:31 |

Could you order from a Common Wealth country, such as Canada? It may prove easier.

I have a Mueller 8x32x44 on my 223. It's clear and bright with repeatable target turrets.
Cost was $240 USD by the time you get it to New Zealand it should still be within your price range. It's a good cheaper scope that you can stretch out! Cheers, Tye |
