I have a Savage 10 FLP in .308, I am going to buy the burris xtr 2 piece base and the burris xtr rings. what height should i get for the rings? scope will be a super sniper 10 power.

Iefty_mcgee if you have thick bases like some tactical bases are you should be safe with the low xtr rings. If your bases are a thin standard style then go with the medium rings. Either way if you end up going with the medium rings I dont think your scope will be too high. I have never used the new xtr bases. I have been working on a new .308 with XTR rings and a SS10X42. This is a pic of the 10X42 mounted on a thick 25MOA base on a Winchester with XTR Low rings and as you can see there is plenty of clearance. Hope this helps you. |
