QuoteReplyTopic: NEW Leupold 1.5-5x33 VX-R Scout Scope Posted: February/10/2012 at 12:51
There’s limited choices among scout
scopes and most of those choices are fixed powers. SWFA through the efforts of Leupold’s custom shop has put
together the Leupold 1.5-5x33 VX-R Scout
Scope.
Does anyone know the actual low and high magnification values of this scope? I know Leupold will round these values and was wondering what they were. Also, how heavy is it?
Also, for anyone who has this scope, is it too big for a scout setup in that it is a 30 mm tube?
Nifty lookin' scope. The weight is listed as 6.6... that can't be correct can it? That scope may also be the ticket on Ruger 1A type rifles that are "scope-challenged" due to the limited rearward mounting abilities.
If we're not suppose to eat animals...how come they're made of meat? Anomymous
That is why I was inquiring about the weight, because it was the same weight listed for the 1 inch model and that did not make sense. Should have been clearer in my post, sorry.
OK this thread/product turned me from a lurker into a member
I got serious TODAY about looking for an optic for my marlin guide gun. Been bouncing all over ever since I realized that eye relief matters and neither the SWFA 1-4 nor the TR24 was gonna cut it.
After spending the entire day looking I found this....are they currently available??
This looks like exactly what I need. What MOA is the center illuminated dot? Battery life? Is the side turret a focus knob or illumination adjustment?
Welcome to the OT! After being on backorder from Leupold for several months we received a shipment in last week. They all went out to backorders but we do have more on order. Just don't have an ETA on the next shipment .
The dot is fairly small. Maybe around 4 MOA. I'll see if leupold has the exact spec, as well as battery life.

The side turret is the illumination dial.
Brady
bummer, no manual focus and not in stock well, I'm still interested. If I want one, should I back order it now? (are you taking backorders for the next shipment?)
You really don't need a parallax adjustment
with this low of a magnification. The ocular adjustment it has will be all you
need.
Yes I would advise placing an order now and
getting in line. We don't charge you now and you can cancel at any time. This
will insure allocation to you as we ship the backorders out in order they are
placed.
Thanx for putting on the actual numbers, I emailed Leupold for them and they did not give them to me.
They must have high school kids answering their emails, because every time I have asked for information from them it has been either wrong or very vague.
