I just ordered a MP94 in 12 guage/223. Will be used for varmint, turkey and all around truck gun. Any suggestions regarding scope mounting would be appreciated. I plan on using an illuminated reticle scope for night coyote hunting.

Good question do you know who makes a base for it? You could probably call SWFA and ask them but without a base you wont be mounting anything. I tend to think either a bolt gun .223 or 22-250 or .243
would have been a better choice for coyotes. Do you have a price range in mind for your optic?

I am getting conflicting reports on the base rail size; some say Mil rail others Weaver. Take some measurements. You may want to look at just a red dot rather than a scope. The 1-4x trijicon would be the scope you want, but it cost more than the rifle.

Thanks for the reply. This gun comes with an 11mm dovetail or Picatinny rail according to the manufacturer. It's on order, I've never seen one. This is a new rig for solo hunting coyote and turkey. I'm looking for an illuminated reticle 2-7 or 3-9 power in $200 - $300 range. |

Now I have "Taiga" w/.308
My hunting style is solo, so thats the combo for that.
For scope I would recommend either fixed or vari not more than 1-4x24 tactical style scope.
Be aware about the length of the base. Most what you can do without modification of the base is to have a scope with the straight front tube. 11mm. base is simlar to the CZ-427. IMHO you should go with Warne QD 1" # 721L or #722 rings. Keep in mind that you may be need to remove the scope fast in case to use smooth bore. I wouldn't recommend to shoot 12/76mm with yor scope on, unless you have a scout scope installed. And by the way watch out for your knuckles.LOL.
Good luck,
Val.
